France & Søn #189 Teak Arm chairs

Denmark

1959

A set of four Danish mid-century modern arm chairs by Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen for France & Søn. The Kindt-Larsen's were one of the most influencial tandems of the Danish modern movement and as early as the 1930's were designing pieces that would become classics such as the Fireside chair for Gustav Bertelsen. They designed several pieces for France & Søn including this chair design. The floating seat and back are of special interest and lighten up the feel of the chair. The backrest is attached with unique custom brass spherical connectors. We love the curved armrests which not only provide visual interest, but are very ergonomic. These chairs would make a great dining, conference or occasional chair and would fit nicely into any modern dining environment.
