Hans Wegner
CH3 Carl Hansen and Son Beech Lounge Chair
A rarely seen lounge chair designed by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Son. This chair was produced in very low numbers (~300) because of the popularity of Wegner's CH24 "Wishbone" chair. One of Carl Hansen & Son's two factories was converted to produce the Wishbone therefore ending production of the CH3. The minimalistic solid beech frame is triangular in shape, which allows for a sturdy design and also a low seat height with the rear legs being a continuation of the seat. This is somewhat reminiscent of other Wegner louge chairs (AP71, JH512 etc). A handy feature of this piece is the adjustable headrest which can be positioned in three locations based on the user's height. The seat cushion sits on flag halyard supports. A unique piece that would make a wonderful addition to any Wegner collection or modern setting!
