A.J. Iversen Mahogany Desk

Denmark

Ca. 1950

A rarely seen classic executive desk by Ole Wanscher for A.J. Iversen. Wanscher and Iversen's partnership was one of the most successful, and produced some of the finest examples of craftsmanship in the Danish mid-century modern era. The use of the finest materials and cabinetmaking, is evident in this design. The mahogany used throughout this piece is spectacular and has some amazing grain patterns. The six extra long drawers are all constructed from solid white oak and employ dovetail joinery and brass handles. In each drawer are white oak dividers to separate your office supplies and documents. The rear of the desk features a pull out shelf. The quality of craftsmanship is simply unsurpassed! This piece can be seen in "Modernism and Tradition: Danish Furniture 1920-1970" published by Harris Lindsay, England. It would be the center piece to any mid-century modern office setting.
