DESCRIPTION:
A classic desk by Børge Mogensen for Søborg Møbelfabrik. Of any Danish designer, it could be argued that Møgensen helped define the term "Danish modern" the most. His straight-forward and sensible approach to furniture design, without comprimising style, epitomized Danish and Scandinavian design. This piece was part of his very successful line for Søborg which included almost all types of case goods. In this example, both teak and beech are used as materials which came to be a classic combination. It uses Mogensen's signature solid teak handles on the drawers. The drawers are all constructed using dove tail joinery. The teak desktop is gorgeous and has very figured grain patterns throughout. The solid beech legs are tipped with teak shoes. This piece would be a great addition to any mid-century modern home or office setting.
