DESCRIPTION:
An extremely rare table by Finn Juhl for Niels Vodder. This piece was originally shown at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild exhibition in 1955 as a card table. We have never seen reference to this design as a coffee table which would demonstrate its rarity. The possibility exists that this example may been lowered for use as a coffee table. Regardless, this piece is outstanding and demonstrates Juhl's ability for designing totally unique pieces of furniture. The distinguishing features of this piece include the hard carved raised lips at each corner, the exposed beech dowels on the tabletop that join it to the frame and the massive solid teak banding and frame structure. This piece would make a wonderful addition to any Juhl collection or modern living or office environment.
