DESCRIPTION:
A rare teak and oak coffee table by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia. This gorgeous table is classic Mogensen: simple forms, functionality and wonderful combination of materials. The tabletop is constructed of solid teak and teak veneer and the massive legs are constructed of solid white oak. The unique feature of the this table is the raised lip that runs all around the perimeter of the piece. The ends gently curve upwards and form a barrier to prevent objects from sliding off the table. The flared ends of the side edges mimic the shape of the legs and have a slight Asian esthetic. The sled style legs are also unique in that Mogensen used this technique in only a few of his designs. The teak has a warm patina, a beautiful reddish hue and combined with the oak legs, it forms a classic Scandinavian combination. This table would make a lovely addition to your modern living environment.
