DESCRIPTION:
A classic set of six oak dining chairs by Poul Volther for FDB. Volther was one of Denmark's most prolific designers, mainly working for FDB and Frem Røjle. This chair was his most successful design for FDB. The first thing you notice is the wonderful ladderback style backrest, a form that can also be seen in his Corona chair and his earlier rare Pyramid chair. The simple yet distinct form was the perfect fit for FDB who's mandate was manufacturing affordable well-designed furniture for the Danish public. The chair is constructed entirely of solid oak which has a wonderful patina and tone to it. The seats are covered in a grey/brown melange Danish Gabriel wool. This wonderful set would be a great fit for any modern dining setting.
